The Bobcat men’s program are tracking Kalonji Paschal, a 5-10 165 point guard currently playing for Eastern Arizona JC. Brad Huse has been recruiting Paschal almost from the time he got the Montana State job. At this point though I am not sure how or if he would fit into the Cats future plans, and I suspect the Cats are still defining their JC recruiting needs for 2010.
Kalonji Paschal is originally from Jefferson High school in Portland Oregon. His high school team featured two other D-1 players. Paschel averaged close to 13 points a game, while handing out 5 assists and 3 steals a game. A very good athlete, Paschel was most like a more highly recruited football player out of high school at the wide receiver position but basketball was the sport he preferred. Last April he pretty much told Rivals.com that he wanted to attend Montana State, as soon as he was cleared by the NCAA clearing house. The problem he had the high school grade to qualify for d-1 but could never get a passing ACT/SAT score, so he had to go the JC route. Earlier this year on OregonLive.com Paschal had the following to say about MSU and his recruitment
