Rivals.com is reporting that Wayne Tinkle and his University of Montana basketball staff are recruiting Eric Robertson of Wayzata high school in Plymouth Minnesota. Robertson is a 6-7, 180 pound small forward, who is an extremely versatile play. In college he could end up playing some at the power forward and/or shooting guard spot depending on his development.
This past season he averaged about 20 points and 8 rebounds a game although these are not official stats, and established himself as one of the top prospects in the State of Minnesota for 2011. Robertson junior year was a far cry from his sophomore and freshman years when he struggled with injuries much of these season. He has played well enough that he has garnered interest from a wide variety of schools who will be watching him very closely this spring and summer.
ESPN gives Robertson an 84 ranking and has the following evaluation.
March, 2010: Robertson is an excellent athlete who has been hampered by injuries the past two seasons. He has a good shooting range and is aggressive taking the ball to the basket. Robertson has long arms and has the chance to be a solid defender. He needs to continue to add strength and improve his ball handling skills. Robertson has a big upside and is young for his class, so he has room for improvement.
