More miscellaneous odds and end pieces of information that I have collected over the past week

  • The Montana State women have put together a pretty good promotional film for the upcoming season. You should check it out.

Sugar and Spice!?

I have updated all four of the Montana State and Montana recruiting lists. That includes updating some commits and offers. Below are some of the football players out of the lists. It really looks like the Bobcats are looking to sign a couple high quality running backs and the Griz are really looking at an amazing number of high quality quarterback.

  • Women basketball – I believe both the Montana State women’s program and the Lady Griz have started official practices for the 2010-11 season. The Bobcats started this past Sunday and I believe the lady Griz started at the beginning of this week. The men’s programs are not allowed to start practices until October 15th.

Odds & Ends (9-13-10)

More Odds and ends from last week, and stick around to the end of the post where I unveil a new feature in Odds and Ends.

  • As I reported last week Bobcat head coach Brad Huse and Grizzly Wayne Tinkle accompanied by recruiting assistants are out on the recruiting trail meeting with recruits and their parents at their homes as well as checking out work outs and talking to coaches. As a contact period this is the time when the coaches have the most latitude in recruiting and communicating with prospects. I have reports of coaches making appearances in California, Arizona, Colorado and Wisconsin.
  • I had a person contact the site and tell me that Colorado point guard Jordon Gregory will be visiting the University of Montana campus this week end. This source is not one of my regulars, so I am trying to confirm.
  • I heard last week that Wayne Tinkle has offered point guard Mitchell Farr from Racine Case high school in Wisconsin. Along with Montana, High Point, Jacksonville, and Rhode Island have also offered Farr. I hear Montana either have or will shortly have a home visit with Farr and his family.
  • I have added 2 players to MSU football and two to UM Football recruiting lists. Additionally I have updated a few players who I have been told been offered as well as a few players who have committed else where.

Odds and Ends (9-7-10)

Time boys and girls for some miscellaneous pieces of information that is two short to justify their own posts.

  • After I posted the New 2011 Recruiting lists I was asked about which players did I know that had been offered by the different programs. So I went back and noted the athletes that I have heard have been offered. Again that does not mean other on the lists have not been offered, these are just the guys I heard have.
  • Former Grizzly all time great player and former head coach Larry Krystowiak had a couple nice articles written about him last week as he joined Avery Johnson’s coaching staff with the NBA’s New Jersey Nets. You can check them out here and here.
  • Former Griz basketball player Austin Swift has signed a two year deal to play professional basketball in Croatia. Swift played two year for the Griz before transferring to Cal Poly Pomona to finish out his college career.

Odds and Ends 8/27/10

I have some miscellaneous bit of information and news that are a little too short to justify individual post so I thought I would create another Odds and Ends post.

  • Former Grizzly all everything and conference player Anthony Johnson has signed a contract to play professional basketball in Greece. Johnson will be playing for DASH Peristeri GS, located in Athens. The Missoulain has a nice article with all the details that you can read here.
  • Former Bobcat all conference center Divaldo Mbunga has been selected to play for the Angolan national team in the Turkey World Cup here is a little info on the team.
