We have a winner in the Kirsten Tilleman Sweepstakes

I have heard from three sources that former Bozeman Hawk high school standout as well as current Oregon State power forward Kirsten Tilleman has decided to transfer to Cal. State Santa Barbara. Tilleman will continue with her education at Oregon State for the 2010-11 while she finishes up her degree and then transfer to Santa Barbara for the 2011-12 season. Tilleman will have two years of eligibility at Cal State Santa Barbara.

One thing to keep in mind, though, is that Tilleman’s commitment is non-binding until she signs a finical Aid agreement. Since she will not play for Cal State Santa Barbara until 2011-12 she will not be able to sign with them until mid November at the earliest. Tilleman could change revise her plans at any point.

In a related note Oregon State head LaVonda Wagner coach was fired earlier this week and the program is in the process of looking for a replacement.

Just for the record, there is no such school as “Cal State Santa Barbara”. Kirsten will be attending the University of California at Santa Barbara (aka “UCSB”), a “sibling” to UCLA and UC-Berkeley (aka “Cal”) in the University of California system. We’re thrilled to have her – she sounds like a great student and player as well as a fine human being. 🙂
