Yesterday I wrote a post declaring to all that the Montana Grizzly are primarily looking to sign a small forward with their single scholarship this year. First thing I write about today is that the Griz are recruiting a point guard. What are you going to do!
The player that I have heard the Grizzlies are recruiting is Hameed Ali of San Leandro
high school in Northern California. Ali is a 6-2 (possibly 6-3) guard who I have seen listed as both a shooting and point guard prospect, but most feel he will play the point in college.
Hameed Ali averaged 11 points, 6 assists, 3 rebounds and 2 steals while shooting 48% from the field, 35 % from three point range and 75% from the free throw line. He is listed on numerous rankings at between 10 to 13th best basketball prospects in Northern California. Greg Hicks of Scout.com also ranks Hameed Ali as one of the top 10 (10th) point guards on the west coast.
Here are a few short evaluations and comments from a variety of sources.
