Odds and Ends 10-12-10

More miscellaneous odds and end pieces of information that I have collected over the past week

  • The Montana State women have put together a pretty good promotional film for the upcoming season. You should check it out.

Sugar and Spice!?

I have updated all four of the Montana State and Montana recruiting lists. That includes updating some commits and offers. Below are some of the football players out of the lists. It really looks like the Bobcats are looking to sign a couple high quality running backs and the Griz are really looking at an amazing number of high quality quarterback.

Montana State Football Recruits
Not a lot on the Montana State side of things last week, but I did manage to find another running back candidate.

Montana has started showing interest in Ellis Henderson a multiple dimensional player from Vancouver Washington. He recently took an official to Idaho and is very interested in the Grizzlies.

RB – Nelo Butler 5-9 205 Helena HS Helena MT
A – Alex Buya 6-2 200 Coronado HS Scottsdale AZ
OG – Dawson Graham 6-3 255 Foothill HS Pleasonton CA
A – Ellis Henderson 6-0 180 Skyview HS Vancouver WA

  • Here is a picture of the new Montana State score board that the Bobcats are putting their final touches on.

  • Michel Swita – I had heard that former Montana State basketball player Michel Swita has transferred to the NAIA’s Lewis and Clark College of the Frontier League, but he currently is not listed on the Lewis and Clark roster. I think he is attending but not playing basketball.
  • Marc-Antoine Bourgault –  I have also heard that the other Frenchman off last year Bobcats team (albeit for a very short time) Marc-Antoine Bourgault is playing this year for Monroe Junior College in New York. Having attended a prep school last season he is a freshman this year as far as eligibility goes. As far as I know I do not believe Montana State is recruiting him.
  • Lady Griz Recruiting –  In the category of the one that got away, I heard a few weeks ago the Lady Griz had 6-5 center Megan Carpenter from Longmont Colorado in for an official visit. The Lady Griz was going up against Pac-10 Oregon and Oregon State for her services but in the end Oregon won out as she committed to them last week. The Lady Griz are still trying to secure that true big center.
