Fall Recruiting Home Stretch – Montana Men

With the Basketball Fall signing period about one month away, schools are on the home stretch of completing their fall signing classes. I am going to look at where the four schools currently stand with commitments, what I think they have left to get signed and who some of the prospects are they maybe looking at. Part 1 Will be the Montana State Men’s program, Part 2 will be the Montana States Women’s program, Part 3 will be the University of Montana Men’s Program and the Part 4 will be the Lady Griz program.

Projected Scholarships Available: 1

Known commitments: 1
The following players have already committed to the Grizzly Men’s program

Pos Name Ht School City ESPN Rating
PG/SG Jordan Gregory 6-2 East Pueblo HS Pueblo, CO 85

Commits Comments:
With their sole scholarship for this year the Griz have signed a guard – granted a very good guard- to fill Brian Qvale’s scholarship. That makes sense because they do a good stable of very young big men on the roster. Gregory is an excellent pick up for the Griz and should fit in rather nicely with their young guards Cherry, Jamar and Autry.

Recruiting Notes:
The Griz should be done at least for the fall period, but I continue to hear rumbling that they are still recruiting. Since Gregory only committed less than a week ago I am not sure if what I am hearing is leftovers from before he committed. By looking at the roster I would think that they would be interested in a big man, but from what I am hearing it appears that they are almost exclusively looking at guards and wings. If the Griz were to sign another Guard, look for more of a 2-3 and someone who can shoot the three ball. None of the guards they have signed over the past 2 years have deep range.

Possible Targets

Pos Name Ht School City ESPN Rating
SG Mitchell Farr 6-2 Case HS Racine, WI 88
SF/SG Kyle Noreen 6-5 Minn. Transition HS Minneapolis, MN 83
SG Kevin Henderson 6-3 Auburn HS Auburn, WA NA
SG Roosevelt Scott 6-3 St Paul Johnson St, Paul, Mn 85
