It looks like Bob Meseroll at the Missoulain scooped me on this one but I have a little more information on the Grizzlies latest addition.
I have heard that the Montana Grizzly basketball program has pickup the services of Taylor Farnsworth of Mead high school in Spokane Washington. Farnsworth is a 6-7 (although I have seen him listed any where from 6-6 to 6-8) post who was a key member of Meads run to qualify for the state tournament this year. Mead finished with a 22-7 record and finished 7th in the State 4A Tourney.
Farnsworth has walked on to the University program this fall.
Farnsworth averaged 7 points a game and 7 rebounds a game. He has been known more as a role player and rebounder, but he has also a history of hitting game winning shots. He is a little bit of a project but he has a good upside.
Farnsworth had a lot of interest from the local JC and D-2 programs in Washington and Idaho but decided to take a chance and walk on at UM. Tinkles reputation as a big man coach was also an important factor in his decision. I would expect Farnsworth to redshirt for the Grizzlies.
