Ryan McIntyre is a Bobcat

Sorry best picture I could find

This week Ryan McIntyre of East Valley high school in Spokane Washington has officially joined the Montana State Basketball program. McIntyre is a 6-2 combo guard who has decided to join Tor Anderson and Steven Davis as the Bobcats walk-on this year.

McIntyre averaged 13 point a game for East Valley. He has very good range and averaged 2.3 three point shots made and had a high of 5 three pointer in two games. He played his junior year for University high school in Spokane and averaged 8 points.

He has good ball skills and could play some at the point but I see him more as a shooting guard early in his career and a point later on.

The Montana State coaching staff has been recruiting McIntyre for quiet some time and had built up a very close relationship with him. He did receive some D-1 interest, his offers were mainly with JC and D-2 clubs. He wanted to give D-1 a shot so committed to play for the Bobcats last July.

The Bobcats will need 2-3 of its freshman guards to step this season and contribute, but it could be a tough battle to earn playing time, for a walk-on. A redshirt year definitely looks like a possibility but he could prove me wrong.

Your right Tim N, this kids picture doesn’t do him justice, 4-year letterman, 3 year starter in the GSL in Spokane, he has outstanding range, leadership, great ball handling skills, unselfish, and a gritty hard nosed player that works hard every play. Coach Huse gets a fine young man here thats CLEAN, and talented in the classroom. Great find Coach Huse you won’t be disappointed as Ryan grows and fills out. He was a pleasure to coach.

Ryan is really gonna grow up to be a great player. I hope that he really develops. He is that late bloomer that could really turn into a stud. a terrific shooter and loves the challenge of guarding the best player. He could turn into a great point guard, or 2 guard. He really is the true definition of combo guard.

jesus every time i see a picture of Ryan I just shake my head and laugh. Pictures do not do this young man justice by any means. My son has played against ryan over the years in spokane and man can he play. Ryan is the type of kid who isn’t afraid of anyone and will never backdown from a challenge. He is a flat out shooter, with range well beyond the line. I see ryan as red shirting and then working hard the next year to become a kid to spread out defenses. Coach Huse got more then just a shooter though he got a kid who can handle the ball and most of all lead a team. Goodluck to the cats
