Bobcat recruit: Davante Adams

I have heard that Davante Adams of Palo Alto high school in Palo Alto, California is receiving recruiting interest from both Rob Ash’s Bobcat football programs and Brad Huse’s basketball program. It appears that the Football program might be showing the most interest currently but the basketball program has been in contact with the two sport athlete.

On the football field the 6-3 athlete played both the wide receiver and free safety spots for Palo Alto team. He is projected to play wide receiver in college.

Adams compiled 488 receiving yards last year with 9 touch downs. For his efforts he was named first team All-SCVAL De Anza Division at the wide receiver spot. In other football related stats Adams runs a 4.4 seconds 40-yard dash, a bench press of 240 pounds, a squat 350 pounds, and a vertical leap of 41 inches.

In basketball Adams averaged 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists a game last season for Palo Alto team. He was named second team All-SCVAL De Anza Division for his efforts.

Here is an evaluation I found on Adams

Big-time athlete who is really explosive. Finishes on the break really, breaks down the defender consistently in the half court.

Currently Adams has not decided which sport he wants to play in college and could wait until after the football season to see what kind of interest he gets from Colleges in both sports. Attention is not something though he is lacking. Currently he is recruiting interest in football from Eastern Washington, Montana State, Nevada-Reno, NCU, Portland State, and San Diego State. In basketball he is getting calls from Eastern Washington, Fresno State, Loyola Marymount, Montana State, Portland, Portland State, Santa Clara, UC Riverside, and Weber State. Despite the number of schools that are showing interest only San Diego State for football has extended an offer to Mr. Adams.

Saw him play last night against Los Gatos. By far the most impressive skill player on the field…man among boys skills. MSU would be lucky to sign this kid. Go Cats
