I have heard that Wayne Tinkle and Montana Grizzly men’s basketball program is recruiting Seth Hinrichs of MacCray high school in Clara City Minnesota. Hinrichs is a 6-6 (although I have also seen him listed at 6-7) 190 pound combo forward who I hear the Griz are trying to set up an official visit for September.
Hinrichs primary reputation is as that of a deep three point shooter, but he is actually he is a very well rounded player. For MacCary last season he averaged 16 points and 10 rebounds a game. He also set a the single season record for rebounders as a junior and is expected to set the MacCay career record this coming season. With the graduation of 2009-10 teammate Shaun Condon (23 points a game) Hinrichs is expected to take over the leadership role for MacCary.
Over the past two year Hinrichs has posted a 54-3 record and is expected to be a power again this year.
Here is a quote from Hinrichs’ AAU Minnesota Comets coach Josh Hanson.
“Seth is the best shooter I have ever coached. His mechanics are as clean as I have seen in a long time. He shoots it very well off the catch or bounce. I think he has a world of upside. His floor game is really coming along and will take off with added strength.”
Hinrichs holds offers from Lafayette and Eastern Kentucky and plans to schedule official trips. While I do not believe Montana has yet offered him they are the third school who he has committed to visiting. Boise State, Brown, Columbia, Idaho, Lehigh, Montana, N.J.I.T., North Dakota and Santa Clara are also showing a lot of interest in Hinrichs.
