Continuing on with getting folks up to speed with the 2011 recruiting of the Bobcat and Griz programs.
The Griz men are doing the best job of the four problem, of keeping me in the dark, but this is what I know.
The Griz have only one scholarship senior on the team for 2010-11 season, that of Brain Qvale. (This is where you can plug in my little blurb about a scholarship will most likely open up by fall) The Griz will have only one scholarship to offer this year.
It does not appear that the Grizzly men are the only D-1 basketball program in the state who as of yet has secured a commit from a player, but with only one scholarship to offer they might being very selective, or they have one and I do not know of it.
From what I am seeing out their it appears that the Griz (like the Bobcats) are primarily looking at back court help for 2011. All of the recruits I am seeing are shooting guards with a few small forward. There also seems to be an emphasis on shooters also.
On more thing to keep an eye on. Montana Assistant coach Freddie Owens seems to be really making some in roads in the Griz mid west recruiting, especially in the state of Wisconsin. I will have more info on that later.
