I have been hearing rumbling from multiple sources over the past few weeks that Billing Central 5-11 Jackie Elliott had committed to the Tricia Binford’s Bobcat basketball program. It now looks like that she indeed has.
Elliott is a 5-11 player who played most positions on the court for Billing Central, but is projected to play the wing (shooting guard and small forward) in college. Last season she averaged 14 points and 9 rebounds a game, while being named First Team Class A All State team.
In addition to her All State status in basketball she was also named first team All State in Soccer and Track also. Coming into next season she has to be considered as one of the top overall high school athletes in the state.
Elliot is a tremendous athlete who’s best basketball is in front of her. What has made her such an intriguing prospect is the fact in college she will of course be able to concentrate her energies on one sport instead of the three she did in high school. Elliot is an explosive scorer having scored in the 30’s multiple times this past season, but she does tend to be a little streaky in her scoring. She can score the three ball or using her size and speed can drive to the whole. She is also a strong rebounder, and shot blocker from the wing position.
Elliot has played quite a bit in AAU ball and Montana All-Star games with both Montana State commits Kalli Durham and Kayla Dewit, so there already should be a good chemistry there.
Of all the Girls high school players in the State it seems Elliot is the only prospect that the lady Griz and the Bobcat women both perused seriously. I believe at one time the Lady Griz had an offer on the table to Elliot but pulled it when Haley Vining from Great Falls CMR committed. I believe the Bobcats offered Elliot last year during the high school basketball season. I am not aware of any other actual D-1 offers, in basketball, but she was getting serious looks in basketball, soccer and track.
