MT / WY All-Star Girls (Round 2)

The second game of this years Montana / Wyoming Girls all star game was not quite the nail biter as the first. In Saturdays night game in Billings the Montana girls forged an early lead and never allowed the Wyoming Girls to get back in it. The Montana Girls rode a dynamite 14 point first half performance by Jordan Sullivan to forge a 49 to 27 point lead and cruised to a second half victory. The final score Montana 95 Wyoming 73.

Sullivan cooled off a little in the second half and finished with 21 points, but girls like Jordan Bagley -who 12 of her 14 points in the 3rd quarter- stepped up to provide a scoring spark.

The Wyoming girls made some runs in the 3rd and 4th quarters but the lead was too big and they were not able to sustain a run for any significant amount of time. Still the Wyoming group was scrappy and great shooters. If they had had any height at all to match up with Montana big girls they might have been able to control the tempo a little more.

Montana’s Lexi Nelson did not score the ball like she had done the previous game (23 points). She took a only 3 shots but was intent on running the show while she was in. She did though provide a great defense effort and her over all scrappy play did impress me.

This was a very good Montana team that had a lot of versatility and talent but I have to give the Wyoming girls some credit were very undermanned but showed a lot of grit and scrappiness over the two game series.
