I have hear that the Rob Ash’s Bobcat football staff is recruiting Ellis Henderson from Skyview high school in Vancouver, Washington. Henderson is a 6-0 175 player who is best described as an “athlete” prospect by most college teams. At one point or another last year for Skyveiw Henderson, played Defensive back, Safety, wide receiver, running back as well as special team duties.
His on the field stats were pretty impressive for 2009. He rushed for 84 yards on 5 carries, caught 37 passes for a total 717 yards (that is a whopping 19+ yards a catch) and 9 receiving touch downs. On defense he had 52 total solo tackles, 17 assisted tackles, 3 sacks, and 3 interceptions (returned 114 yards). He also returned kicks and punts and had three returns for touch downs
For his efforts Henderson became the very first player in Greater St. Helens League History to earn first-team honors at four different positions as a wide receiver, defensive back, kick returner, AP (and I will be honest I do not know what an AP is).
As you might guess by the position he plays Henderson is a speedster, and clocked a 4.45 forty time last summer. He may be a little better now.
Henderson’s athletic prowess extends beyond the football field as he is also one of the top high school baseball prospects in the State of Washington, which is not all that surprising once you realize he related to Baseball Hall of Famer Ricky Henderson.
Currently Boise State, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana State, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Washington State are recruiting Henderson the hardest, with Washington State, Idaho and Montana State already offering him. Washington State is considered the early favorite, and he has taken unofficial visits already to Washington State, Washington, and Oregon.
