Bobcat recruits: a pair of Hawks

I have heard through a couple sources the Bobcat men’s basketball program are recruiting a pair of Bozeman Hawk basketball players. From what I have heard that they are interested in both junior combo guard 6-2 Tanner Roderick and 6-8 senior center-forward Jake Owsley. The Bozeman hawks are currently undefeated going into this week-end, and are expected to challenge Great Falls CMR for the state AA championship.

Here is a little info on both players.

Tanner Roderick 6-2 160

Roderick is one of the better all around athletes in the Montana junior class not only will he be a D-1 prospect in basketball, but also in football, and I hear he is a pretty good baseball to boot. He is a combo guard, but more of a scorer than a pure point guard.

Currently, Roderick is averaging 17 points, 3 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals a game while shooting 38% field goal percentage,30% 3- point field point line, and 68% free throw line.

This past football season Roderick was also named second team All-State as a quarterback, punter and place kicker.

Jake Owsley 6-8 210

Owsley reminds me a lot of his older brother (PJ) who player for the Hawks some years back. He has not been getting a lot attention from D-1 teams (like PJ) but he does appear to be a late bloomer (like PJ). If he does not go on to the D-1 level he will be a huge get for a Frontier level school.

Currently Owsley is averaging 14 points,1 assists 9 rebounds 3 blocks, and 1 steals while shooting 50% from the field , 25% from the 3 point line, and 44% free throw line.

Owsley is played wide receiver/ tight end on the Hawk football team
I believe Roderick is also receiving a lot of attention from the MSU and UM football programs. I have also heard Owsley has received some interest from in football. I am not sure if either has been offered by the Montana State basketball at this point.
