Bobcat FB recruit: Terron Williams-Ward

Rivals.com is reporting that the Montana State football staff is recruiting Terron Williams-Ward of De La Salle high school in Concord, California. Williams-Ward is a 5-8 (I am splitting the difference between listings of 5-6 to 5-9) 185 pound running back who has put up some remarkable numbers for De La Salle high school this past fall.

Williams-Ward rushed for 2038 yard on 194 carries and 23 touch downs. For good measure he also caught 19 passes for 131 yards and 1 touch down. He played some as a defective back and recorded 18 tackles. On special teams he had 15 punt returns for an 18 yard average. Altogether he scored 160 points this year for De La Salle high school including two point conversions.

It should also be noted that De La Salle high school is a national power that at one time had something like a 160 game winning streak. This year they had to settle for a 13-2 record and a California state championship.

Douglas Benton of NorCalPreps.com (part of the Rivals.com network) had the following evaluation of Terron Williams-Ward recently.

Ward is small back at 5-foot-7, but runs with a power attitude and can get the tough yards inside. He has sprinter speed and can be a game-breaker from the backfield. He has good hands and over the course of this season, has showed himself to be a complete running back. He projects as a high mid-major to low high-major type player.

I hear that Arizona is his dream school but currently Stanford, UCLA, Oregon, Washington, Montana State and UNLV are the schools who are showing the most interest currently, and I believe Montana State is the only school of this bunch who has offered him.
