Prospect Update: Grizzly Men

This is the second of four updates on signee’s /commits from the four Montana State and University of Montana basketball programs. Part 1 featured an update on the Montana State men’s program, this update will focus on the Montana men’s program. Part two will feature the Montana State Women’s program while part 4 will be the lady Griz program.

2010 Signees

  • Michael Weisner 6-7 F Walla Walla, HS – Weisner started out the season rather cold scoring in the single digits in his first two game, as team mate Gary Winston (Idaho signee) put up some big scoring nights. Recently though he has been putting up numbers close to 20 points a game. Over all Weisner is averaging 16 points a game this season. It also appears from the news paper accounts he is starting at the shooting guard spot.

  • Billy Reader 6-9 F/C Lake Oswego HS – If Weisner started off cold and then got hot Reader was the opposite. Reader really turned some heads when he started out the season averaging 22 points, 12 rebounds a game. Since then he has cooled off considerably averaging 10 points and 7 rebounds over the past 4 games. His over all stats are 14 points and 8 rebounds.
  • Vaughn Autry 6-1 G Serra HS – Autry has lead Serra High school to a 7-1 record winning the Ocean View Tournament of Champions and Redondo Union Tournament so far. I understand this week end they are playing in the same tourney as Price high school (featuring Bobcat commit Casey Trujeque) and I am curious to see if the meet this week end. Aurty has been a little up and down with three games over 20 points and one game of 2 points. Over all he is averaging 16 points a game.

2010 Commits

  • Kareem Jamar 6-4 G/F Westchester HS – Jamar and Westchester high school have had a great season so far thy are 5-0 so far and that has been against some of the better teams in Southern California. Jamar’s stock is and has warranted separate mentions in the los Angelis Times as well as ESPN. He is currently averaging 16 points a game for a team loaded with D-1 talent.
