This is the third of four updates on signee’s /commits from the four Montana State and University of Montana basketball programs. Part 1 featured an update on the Montana State men’s program, while the second focused on the University of Montana Men’s program this update will focus on the Montana State women’s program. Part 4 will feature the Lady Griz prospects.
Only one of Binford’s fall recruits have any stats to follow or report on, and that is Ausha Cole of Gilbert Arizona. The other two recruits Emily Allen and Kate Webb of Queensland Australia finished up their high school career this fall and are both waiting to enroll at MSU this summer. The Australian prep basketball is totally set up differently than over here in the states anyway so it is hard to compare. If I do hear of any tournaments they do play in I will try to post.
On another note I almost combined this post with the Bobcat Men’s post because it contains an update on only one player, but I knew that would not be keeping with Title IX so here you go.
- Ausha Cole 5-6 PG Gilbert HS – Of all of the prospects Cole and her Gilbert team have the most games already in this season with 14 already played. Gilbert’s record so far 11-3 on the season with only 11 games left of the season. Cole is a capable guard who can score or dish. She has had season high stats of 19 points, 7 assists (x3), 7 rebounds (x2) and 8 steals. Her season averages are 12 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals a game and is shooting 60% from the field, and 62% from three point range. She is also one of the better defensive guards in the state of Arizona. Gilbert also feature two other guards who will be playing college ball in 5-2 Whitney Southerland (unsigned) who averages 23 points a game and Johanna Johnson (Weber State) who averages 14 points a game.
