Griz FB recruit: Anthony LaCoste

I have heard that the grizzly coaching staff is recruiting Anthony LaCoste of West Albany high school in Albany Oregon. LaCoste is a 5-11, 193 pound, record setting running back from West Albany. While he played a couple offensive and defensive positions in high school running back is where he excelled.

This past year he had 1784 yards rushing on 221 carries with 27 touch downs. For his high school carrier, LaCoste rushed for over 6,000 yards which is currently places him number three on the state of Oregon’s all time carrier rushing mark. He was named 1st team mid-valley RB of year, for the second straight year and 1st team mid-valley Offensive player of the year.

He is also an accomplished track athlete and is rated as one of the better returning 100 meter runners in the State. He runs a 4.46 40 time and has a 37 inch vertical jump.

ESPN gives him a 60 rating, scout.com gives him a 2 star, while Rivals rates hi as a single star prospect.

I believe he holds an offer from Air Force, with Army in the wings about to offer. Also showing an interest is Boise State, California, Eastern Washington, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Oregon State, Portland State, San Jose State, Washington, and Washington State

Anthony is a great running back at the high school level and I think he would be great as a GRIZ ! I live in Albany and have watched him play his highschool football games and he really is a special player.
