The Weeks Calendar: 12-7-09

Another week of full of basketball, with the Montana State men and Women, as well as the Lady Griz playing a game on the road as well as one at home, while the Grizzly men have two road games this week. Most of the games will feature solid or better D-1 competition although the Montana State men (Northern New Mexico) and the Lady Griz will both be playing some sacrificial (hopefully) D-2 teams. The schedule I like the best is the Grizzly’s men’s to away games. These are two games will be a challenge but winnable if the Griz are on their game.

This Weeks Calendar

Wednesday – December 9th

Bobcat men at Memphis
This will be a very tough game for the Bobcats period. The biggest challenge will be matching up with team speed of Memphis. I think the Bobcat’s guard should be able to match up ok but the front line of the Cat’s could have their hands full.

Bobcat Women at Boise State
A tough road game for the Bobcat Women. Boise will be 6-2 coming into this game with home wins against Weber State, and Portland State as well as a road victory against Idaho State.

Lady Griz host Montana-Western
The NAIA team comes visiting the Lady Griz, and look for the Robins Selvig to substitute early and often.

Thursday – December 10th

Grizzly Men at Loyola Marymount
Loyola Marymount lost to the Grizzly’s by a single point in the Grizzly Men’s tourney earlier this year, so look for them to try to return the favor at their place. One thing is for sure both teams will know each other well.

Friday – December 11th

Montana Women host Washington State
The Bobcat women get a Pac-10 school to visit Bozeman, if you like women’s basketball get out and see this game. A tough game for the Bobcat’s but if they play their game they could get a win.

Saturday – December 12th

Bobcat men host Northern New Mexico
The Bobcats will take on an NAIA team that lost to Utah Valley by close to 25 points the other day. It should be a good game to get a lot of young player in the game. Hopefully we will get to see Swita … finally!

Grizzly Men at Colorado State
The Griz take on the 5-3 Mountain West team, coming off of their in State rivalry game against Colorado. Again if the Griz play their game they could win this game but they will need to get more contributions than just Qvale and Johnson.

Lady Griz at Gonzaga
This is the first chance we get to compare the Lady Griz and Bobcat women against the same opponent. Gonzaga is a top 30-40 team right now so this will be a tough challenge for the Lady Griz.
