I have heard that Bobby Hauck’s Montana Grizzly team is on a long list of colleges who are interested in football player Ty (Tyler) Smabrailo of St. Francis Central Coast Catholic high school in Watsonville, California. Ty is a 6-6 260 pound offensive line prospect, who is also getting some attention as a defensive end. For good measure he is also a very accomplished place kicker for St. Francis.
As a sophomore he was a SCCAL All League- Honorable Mention on defense and as a junior was named First Team all SCCAL All League as an offensive tackle and second team as a defective end and kicker. Last year on defense he had 56 tackles, 6.5 sacks and three fumble recoveries. He was also a started on the St. Francis high school basketball team.
What teams like about him as an O-line men are his outstanding fundamentals and great footwork. On defense he can be dominating at times.
Sambrailo carries a 3.5 grade average, and has already scored an 1810 on the SAT, which has made him very attractive to the higher end academic schools. Currently he is getting recruiting interest from Boise State, Cal Poly, Colorado, Colorado State, Idaho, Idaho State, Montana, Oregon State, UCLA, Utah, and Washington State, but I do not believe any have offered yet.
