Odds and Ends: 9-29-09

It has been a rather busy September for me so sorry for lack of attention on my blog but it is likely to come in spurts for the next month or so. It has also been kind of slow also. Anyway let’s go into Odds and Ends.

  • Grizzly basketball recruit Thomas Frye has named his favorite as Texas Christian University, but I do not believe TCU has offered him yet. His next four are UC Riverside, Eastern Washington, Montana, and Portland State. I am not sure exactly sure what the order of these next four are but I hear Montana is at or near the top of these four. I believe Tinkle has offered Frye.
  • The Bobcat football team are apparently still recruiting K.J. Cusack a 5-9 wide receiver/ / running back / defensive back / athlete from Santa Maria California. He recently reported at Rivals.com that he holds offers from UC Davis, Portland State and Air Force, but Fresno State, San Jose State, Montana State, and Sacramento State are very involved and are expected to offer soon. He is also starting to get interest from Miami of Ohio, Tulane, Washington State, Oregon State and Cincinnati

  • In a Matt Miller update, Jon Leggette of CarolinaBlue.com last week reported that Oregon State, Arkansas, and North Carolina offered Matt earlier this month. In the article Miller states that he’s primarily looking at six schools including North Carolina, Arkansas, Oregon State, Boise State, Arizona State and Stanford. While he has not selected the five schools he will take official visits from these schools currently lead to get the visit, although it sounds like that is not a guarantee.
  • Bobcat Football recruit Joseph Maxey a 5-10 185# running back from Huntsville Texas recently named, Louisiana, Baylor, Oklahoma State, Louisiana Tech, ULM and Montana State right now with Louisiana Baylor and Montana State seem to be the leaders. Maxey has shown a lot of interest in Montana State having tripped all the way from Texas to Bozeman this summer for the Bobcat football camp.
  • In a follow up to a post I did last week on Francisco Cruz I have heard that Montana, UNLV, Washington State, Colorado State and San Francisco are the schools showing the most interest right now. Montana has offered, and I hear he wants to trip their, I and I again have heard that they are clearly the leader.
  • Basketball recruiting wise a lot of players have been dropping off the board rather quickly. I have been trying to keep the recruit list update but it has been quite a task, but of the notable prospects that have come off the board are.

Ben Mills (7-0 center) – Boise State
TrayVonn Wright (6-8 Power forward) – North Dakota State
Simi Fajemisin (6-9 center) – San Deigo State
Troy Huff (6-4 guard) – North Dakota

Dau Jok (6-2 Guard)  -Penn.
