Montana coaches on the internet

mslacatlogoI would like to start a weekly or every other week post on some of the best of the Montana coaches on the internet. It seems, though, that very few of the college coaches in Montana bother to use the internet as a marketing/recruiting tool or for really anything else. Like I have mentioned countless times it seems that Montana State women’s coach Tricia Binford is the only one who is using the internet at all, although it appears that the Montana State Athletic department is going to be making a push this fall and through out the year to get more of a presence on the web in various forms. I will give a list with links at the end of this post to the different Facebook, Twitter, Blogs etc that I know of. If you know of any other sites, let me know and I would be interested MSU, UM, Frontier, D-2 and/or JC Montana team,

I have tried to locate any official UM twitter/facebook/blog, but I did not have any luck. There are a couple social networking sites that identify themselves as Montana grizzly sites but I do not believe they are administered by the university.

Post of the week

Scanson

My post of the week comes from Montana State assistant women’s basketball coach Justin Scanson’s Blog. Justin’s blog does not always deal with basketball, sometimes it is frozen food or his vacation, but his latest post is entitled Internet and Recruiting. It deals mainly with the efforts the Montana State women’s program is taking to use the internet and some of the tools they use. I rather enjoyed the article, but then I kind of like that sort of stuff.

Other Mentionable sites

Justin’s boss Tricia Binford had a couple nice articles this past week. The first was another installment of her take it to the next level series, on simplifying your game and focusing your game. The second post which I almost gave my post of the week award to was on Pro Vs College, their similarities and differences, and preparing for life after basketball.

I ran across another website, by a Montana coach called coachpalmer.com. Kyle Palmer coach with some Montana connections, having coached in the Frontier Conference. It is my understanding that he is currently living in Montana so technically he would qualify, for a mention.

Here are some links to various MSU social networking sites.
