Bobcat FB recruit: Nathan Jeffery

Rivals.com is reporting that Bobcat head football coach Rob Ash is recruiting Nathan Jeffery of Caddo Mills high school in Texas. Caddo Mills plays at the 2A level in Texas, and is considered to be a “small school”, but is most likely somewhere around the size of a Montana class A school.

Jeffery is listed as an athlete, but I believe the Montana State coaching staff is recruiting him primarily as a running back but he is also getting a lot of attention as a safety. Jeffery has been a major contributor for Caddo Mills since his freshman year. He currently is 5-11 and weighs 185 pounds and runs a 4.5 forty

njefferysAs a running back last year he compiled 2,400 yards rushing while scoring 45 touch downs, and had 16 receptions for 224 yards. As a safety he had 105 tackles while intercepting 3 passes. For good measure he also averaged 21 yards per punt return with a longest of 75 yards. Jeffery was the 13-2A District MVP, and was named to the first team All-2A state as a running back and second team as safety.

Jeffery holds offers from Montana St., Kansas State and Stephen F. Austin, while Arkansas, SMU, TCU, Oklahoma State, and Texas A&M are showing serious interest. According to his interview in Rivals.com Arkansas and TCU are currently his favorites.
