Griz FB recruit: Ashton Boothroyd

boothroyd

Scout.com is reporting that Bobby Huack and his Montana grizzly football staff are recruiting Ashton Boothroyd of Mt. Spokane high school in Mead Washington. Boothroyd is a 6-3, 240 pound prospect who is projected to play defensive end in college, although he also played on the offensive line.

Boothroyd had 54 tackles, 21 assists, 2 fumble recovery, 10 tackles for loss, 1 hurry-up, and 2 tips, last year for Mt. Spokane high school last season and almost identical stats for his sophomore year. He also runs a 4.84 forty.

Bootheroyd has had a pretty summer so far this year, and has seen recruiting interest rise quite a bit. Currently Montana, Washington State, Central Washington, Idaho, and Navy, have shown the most interest this summer. Montana is considered to be the leader for his services, although if Washington State were to offer they might leap frog over Montana. He has not offers yet.

Don’t look now but this kid is on fire, he may end up with his best year yet statistically but more importantly his team is 3-0 and they have the makings to go deep into the playoffs with continued play as thus far.

Actually, his Sophomore stats, according to the Mt Spokane Stats Sheet, are different than the ones listed.
    44 tackles
    18 assists
    1 fumble recovery
    10 tackles for loss
    1 hurry
    1 tip

I just wanted to correct the actual stats from the season since these are incorrect and could be misleading. These are the actual statistics from the Mt Spokane Stats Sheet
    31 tackles
    8 assists
    0 fumble recoveries
    5 tackles for a loss
    1 hurry
    0 tips

Those stats are his junior year stats. The stats in the blog are his sophmore year stats. He has one more year to go, let’s see what type of numbers he can put up.
