So I bet you football guys and gals have been feeling a little neglected the last week or so. Well don’t worry practice should be underway in about a month or so. In the mean time here is a little tid bit of recruiting information to hold you over.
I have heard that Rob Ash’s Montana State football staff is recruiting Zach Chapman from Mountain View high school in Vancouver Washington. The 6-5 235 pound Chapman is an interesting prospect in that he is getting a lot of attention from a wide variety of D-1 football programs at both the championship and the bowl sub-division level.
He played tight end and defensive end (weakside for those of you keeping score) mainly in high school, but did get some time in at the defensive tackle also. He was an honorable mention all GSHL as sophomore at the tight end spot and a second team all GSHL as a junior at both the tight end and defensive end. He recently participated in the 4th Annual Barton Football / Next Step College Sports combine and was voted as one of the top 5 lineman in attendance. He runs a 4.82 -40 time, with a 29 vertical and a maximum bench press of 200 pounds.
I hear that most of the Bowel Subdivision team looking is looking at him as a defensive end but he is getting some looks from the Championship Subdivision as both a tight end and defensive end. He is currently getting recruiting attention from Arizona, Washington, Washington State, Wisconsin, East. Washington, Idaho St., Tennessee, Portland St as well as Montana State.
