Site Update

mslacat1

I thought I would update you regulars on a few items.

  • I have finally updated the entire recruiting list as of last night, although as soon as I did that I got another name for the Northern Colorado List. I was about a week behind

  • I plan to start separate pages, much like I did for the “recruiting list”, for “commits”. This commit section will feature separate pages the Bobcat, Griz men’s and women’s commits and /or signees. I am still trying figure out the detail in my own mind. Do I have a page for each commit or one page for each program? I would like to feature pictures, current stats, and of any article on the recruits. I am also trying to figure out links vrs cut and pasting of things. You may see this “Commits” tag appear, and disappear over the next couple of weeks, as I play with it, just consider it though as a work in progress. As always thoughts comments are welcome.

  • I am talking with some folks that may or may not bring some changes to this site, but could definitely be a positive thing for most of the regular readers of the site. This site should continue, but I think another project could dovetail rather nicely with my site and the other existing sites.

  • I am finally getting comfortable with my vision of this site. It is very hard to do as much coverage of high school basketball/football as I would like, because this State is so darn big and I am located way over on the west side. For the most part I am becoming more of a conduit of information, than a person who can actually get out and see/scout athletes. If an athlete is from Missoula I can guarantee you I have probably seen him/her multiple times. If a kid is let say from Glendive, there is a decent chance I have to rely on talking to people I know, and mixing it all together to come up with an opinion. I bring this up because there is a very good chance I could be wrong about something. Do not ever be afraid to correct me.

What brought this up was last week when I took in a pick-up game with the Griz and some high school Griz Campers. There was a 6-7ish thin curly headed kid playing with the Griz players. My initial thought was, is that Blake Brumwell from Big Sandy? As I watched him, I noticed he was pretty chummy with a 6-4 high school kid also playing. Could that be teammate Corbin Pearson? I thought Brumwell was a lot heavier? In the end I went home jumped on the computer found a Big Sandy team picture. Each face on the picture was about the size of a pencil eraser, but it was pretty clear that neither of those guys’s Brumwell and Pearson, it was not even close. What really put me in my place is that here I am writing this blog about Montana Basketball players, and these two kids confused with, Brumwell and Pearson.

  • Finally, if you are going to pass info along to I please let me know if you want me to keep it confidential, or whether you want it out. I get some info that people want me to leak, and I get some info that I am asked to keep confidential. When I do have some doubt, I try to check back and make sure. I really do not want to burn anyone.

There is also information I will not put out there. There is some information that I will want to get another source or two to confirmation before I put it out.
