Where are they now: Update (part 2)

This is the second part of a post I did earlier today, subtitled:durham

Durham’s Last Class: Part 2

Travis Derochowski was a 6-9 240 pound center from Salem Oregon. Despite being from Oregon in some ways Travis was a Montana boy at heart. His family spent a great deal of time in Montana as he was growing up and Montana was a place he wanted to play ball. Having been signed by Durham he had no problem honoring his letter of intent and playing for Huse.

TRAVISDEROCHOWSKI9_29150Travis played his freshman year at Montana State but played sparingly and had a pretty rough time in Bozeman. He probably should have been redshirted that year, but Huse did not have the depth, and I also heard that there were communication problems between him and Huse. At the end of the year Travis decided to transfer to a school closer to his home in Oregon D-2 power Warner Pacific.

Just an aside, while have heard from both parties there were communication problems between Huse and Derochowski , I am told there was still a lot of respect between the two.

Travis played his sophomore year for Warner Pacific starting a handful of games, but it seems he did not return to Warner Pacific for this past year. I have heard though that Travis is back in the state of Montana and will be playing college basketball for a coach Huse, Shawn Huse that is at MSU- Northern next year. I believe he will come on board at Northern as a junior and have two years of eligibility there.

I have to wonder if Brad had antrhing to do with Travis being offered a spot with his  brother at Northern

Just for the record I am tickled to death to see Travis back playing basketball in Montana and having had the opportunity to get to know Travis and his dad I can tell you they are very class individuals, and I wish them the best of luck.
