More Odds and ends

  • It is going to get kind of slow hear for a while. It is just the time of year when aWinston,Gary lot of thing slow down. Come the end of June and into July things should pick up as the basketball and football teams start to offer more kids. As I become aware of things I will of course post info.

  • The first Montana State and Montana recruit to come off the board recently did so yesterday when Gary Winston from Walla Walla high school. committed to Idaho. He was a kid who I thought the Griz, has been recruiting for some time and really had a chance with.

  • As a rule I am not going to posting when recruits sign with other schools. The recruiting list are going to most likely double in size by the end of the summer and to post articles on each prospect who gets away, gets to be a little much. I will be updating though the schools recruiting lists to reflect when a kid has signed else where, so if you are curious go ahead and check out your schools list. If you are real curious about a certain player go ahead and ask, and I will let you know what I know. I may post something on any Montana kids that sign else where and/or on kids who the schools may have been really close to.

  • Taylor Filipek was featured in another Rivals article today and had the following to sayfilipek about his recruitment and Montana State.

Filipek is now hearing from several schools. As a 6-foot-6 wing who is versatile enough to be trusted as just about every position on the floor Filipek is getting strong interest.

“As far as college stuff goes no scholarship offers yet, but the strongest interest has been from South Dakota, Northeastern, Montana State, South Dakota State, St. Cloud State, and Southwest State,” Taylor explained. “I have also heard from Butler, Iowa State, North Dakota State, Colorado State and Boston U. I’m hoping to trade basketball for an education. I think college coaches aren’t sure what position I play, but I consider myself a small forward who is long enough to play power forward as well.”binford

  • I realize I have plugged Coach Binford’s blog before but I really want to do it again. If any of you know of a high school player who wants to play college ball you really need to check out her blog, not just the current topic but also go through the archive. It does not matter whether your player is a boy or girl. Wants to play frontier, Big Sky, or Pac-10 basketball or even just be a better high school player, it is pretty good stuff. I am serious, even if you plan to play for the Lady Griz, check out some of her articles you will be better off for doing so.

For the lazy here are a few to start off with.
