Bobcat Recruit: Chris Burks

Christ Burks is the very first player in the 2010 class that I had heard that Montana State was recruiting back in the late summer of 2008. He is also a player I have had the most trouble finding a lot of information on. So bear with me.

Burks is a 6-8 240 pound post who plays for Little Elms high school in the Fort Worth area of Texas. Burks averaged 11 points and 7 rebounds a game for little Elm last season. Those numbers were both second best on his team playing along side conference co-MVP Clifford Murphy. Murphy is a 6-6 (6-5 for football) center who is a top defensive line prospect in the Fort Worth area.

Burks was a second team all conference this past year and can play both power forward and center, but would most likely be a center in the Big Sky conference.

Rivals.com reports that Air Force, Arkansas-LR, Indiana St., Kent State, Louisiana-Monroe, Middle Tennessee, San Diego, Missouri State and Montana State are recruiting Burks, and he holds an offer from Western Kentucky.

They will be evaluating Burks in the July Tournaments but Burks is starting to get some higher level schools such as Western Kentucky, Tulsa, Middle Tennessee, etc. looking at him so he may be looking more closely at those schools.

Do you know if the Bobcats are still looking at him? My info on Burk is close to a year old so, I am not sure if they are still talking.

Burks is a solid prospect who is starting to draw more interest from mid-major schools. Western Kentucky has offered and has shown a lot of intertest lately. Tulsa, Drake, and American U have also shown interest. Burks is a solid shooter with a good soft shooting touch. He is a very good three point shooter as well and a good passer. He shot a career high 90% from the ft line his sophomore season. Burks has a big body and good low post moves. If he pins and seals, its pretty much over either with a bucket or him goingto the line. Could play the 4 or 5 at a mid major school due to his shooting, low post game, and passing ability. Right now, he is pretty much wide open on schools recruiting him.
