Bobcats and Griz Recruit Spencer Coleman

spencer2I am told that Both the Griz and Bobcats are involved with South Eugene high school Spencer Coleman. Coleman is a 2010 recruit who is being recruited both in football and basketball by a wide variety of D-1 teams.

Last year for South Eugene the 6-5 Colman averaged 16 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 rebounds a game while shooting 55% from the field, 42% from beyond the 3 point line and 78% from the free throw line. At 6-5 he projected to play the small forward, but in high school, he played the shooting guard and both forward spots.

In football he primarily being recruited as a wide receiver, but has also played quarter back, safety, defensive back and tight end. In football he is listed at 6-3 to 6-4, imagine that.spencer

He comes from a pretty athletic family. His father was recruited to Oregon as a football player and Basketball player before eventually choosing football. His older brother played wide receiver for Eastern Washington, before finishing his career at Portland State.

Coleman is scrappy, skilled wing player who not afraid to mix it up inside but also can take it out to the three point arc. If he was a couple inches taller, and that may still happen, he would be getting a lot more attention from Pac-10 schools. As it now stands he is being recruited in both sports by most of the Big Sky, and has recently begun to hear from some Pac-10 schools in football. The information on him being recruited by the Montana school is a little old so I do not know what his current status is.
