The Bobcats track Duane Bagsby

Duane-BagsbyRivals.com has Duane Bagaby on their recruiting list for the Bobcat, and I believe the Bobcat’s are tracking him. Bagsby is a 5-11 point guard who currently plays for New Mexico Junior College. In 2008 then Bobcat assistant coach Danny Sprinkle was very close to and had the Bobcat’s in his top 2-3. It turned out though that he need to go the JC route, before he could make the move to the NCAA D-1 level.

Bagsbey, who is listed any where from 5-8 to 6-0, played at Berkley high school in California. He started off and on his freshman and sophomore year, and became a full time starter from his junior year on. During his time at Berkeley he played with a lot of team mate then went on to play D-1 ball. His senior year he named ACCAL First team and averaged around 13 points and 5 assists a game. He was named by scout.com one of the top 25 point guards on the west coast in 2008.

Bagsbey was averaging 9 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals while shooting 58% from the field, 55% beyond the 3 point arc and 72% from the line, before going down to injury. He played in only 8 games this year for New Mexico JC.

Bagsbey is an athletic, physical guard, with a little better than average speed. He is not an overly flashy player, but understands how to run a team efficiently. He is the type of player who will score 25 points one night and 10 points with 7 assists the next.

I have no concrete information that the Bobcats are still recruiting Bagsby, but given their familiarity with each other if the Cat’s need a JC point next year, do not be surprised if the get involved again with him
