2010 Point Guard Commits to the Bobcats

I do not have anything to report on the current Bobcat recruiting class, but I can report that Brad Huse’s Bobcats have received a commit from 2010 recruit. Point guard Casey Trujeque of (Frederick K C) Price high school in Los Angelis California. Trujeque is 5-10ish point speedster, who averaged 12 point and 7 assists a game. Many of his assists were handed out to 4 star team mate Allen Crabtree. Crabtree also a 2010 (and California commit) recruit was named league MVP while Trujeque was named second team all conference. Here is what Greg hicks of Scout.com had to say about Trujeque and his commitment.

Casey Trujeque, 5-9 JR PG Los Angeles (Calif.) Price, has committed to Montana State, according to Price coach Mike Lynch.

“He was hearing from Columbia and Harvard — those were the main two — before he committed to Montana State,” said Lynch.

Lynce added that Trujeque is an excellent student, with a 3.9 GPA.

Price high school is a power in California ranks finished the season with a 27-4 record and advanced to the State championship semifinal round. Price should be even better not only will they have Trujeque and Crabbe, but they will also have the services of rising California Big man Richard Solomon (follow this link to a post I did on Solomon).

Trujeque is a pure point guard who is has a lot of experience in playing with some of the best basketball players in California. He is also a very capable scorer, with three point range, and also the ability to penetrate and score or pass. In one game this season when Crabbe fouled out he scored the last 12 points of the game to bring Price from behind to a victory.

Earlier this year coach Huse was talking about wanting to get an athletic pure point guard into the program. It was the one area that he felt the program needed but had yet to sign. It looks like he got his point.
