Update: Helena Capital’s Matt Miller

Found this on Rivals.com. Found it interesting

It’s not very often that two brothers from different universities are assigned as the official recruiting coaches of one of the nation’s most versatile players, but when it comes to Class of 2010 athlete Matt Miller, this is the case.

Miller, out of Helena (MT) Helena Capital, has offers to play college football from over 11 universities and two of the schools that have been showing him the most interest thus far are Colorado State and Arizona State.

“Right now the schools looking at me the most are Arizona State, Stanford, Boise State, Oregon, Washington State and Colorado State,” Miller said. “I guess you could say there’s a lot of Pac-10 influence.”

What really makes the CSU and ASU connections interesting is that brothers Marc and Matt Lubick of the Rams and Sun Devils, respectively, are both Miller’s recruiting coaches. Both are the sons of legendary Colorado State coach Sonny Lubick.

Miller says he’s not too familiar with the football program in Fort Collins, but talks to Marc about once a month. He also says that even though the Lubick brothers are recruiting him, neither take light-hearted jokes at the other, but in fact talk the other brother up.

“They actually talk each other up quite a bit—it seems like it’s a really friendly rivalry between the two.”

This spring, Miller is staying in shape by trying to bring yet another track and field state championship to Helena Capital. Partially enhanced by his presence on the track, his speed is what helps make his game so solid. In 2008 he had 932 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns to go along with 663 yards and six scores rushing, primarily on reverse plays. Miller is listed on his team’s roster as a wide receiver.

This versatility in his game is what has Boise State coming to visit him on Friday, Stanford coming to see him next week and ASU’s Matt Lubick coming to visit him in person later in May.

As for the upcoming school year, Miller just wants to live the life of a “normal” high school senior.

“I just want to enjoy it. I want to hang out with my friends a lot because as soon as I go off to college I won’t be seeing them as much as I’d like to. I really just want to be a normal guy, a normal senior, and have a lot of fun

I would have been nice for him to mention the Bobcats as a team recruiting him…..you know, as a gesture.
