Marc Mack in white and yellow
I have heard that Brad Huse and his Montana State basketball program is recruiting Marc (although I have see it also spelled mark) Mack from Illinois. Mack currently is not playing basketball this year but is attending high school and practicing at Morgan Park high school where he hopes to be able to play this season. Last season he played at Providence-St. Mel in Illinois but transfer to Morgan Park after his parents separated. Currently he is caught up in a transfer rule that he is hoping to over turn.
Last season for Providence-St. Mel high school he played along side Phillip Jackson a 6-9 forward / center that currently is getting a lot of interest from schools like Kentucky and Illinois, to form a dominating front line. Mack is a 6-6ish (I have also seen him listed at 6-7 but this is most likely closer to the truth) combo forward. I do not have their exact stats but I am told both Mack and Jackson averaged a double double last season in rebounds and points. Mack averaged close to 15 points and 10 rebounds a game. Last season Jackson and Mack were named the best front court duo in the Illinois 2A by one internet prep site.
Mack is a very tough had nose player, but also very athletic and explosive player. I believe his best game last season was a 28 point 18 rebound outing. Last year I heard he could score out to 10-15 feet, but has been working to take his shot out further. Unfortunately for him he has yet been able to show off these skills this winter.
Mack is one of those under publicized players. He is also an inch or two shorter than your ideal mid to high major forward but is ideally suited to play at the Big Sky level. Right now I hear his main two suitors are Montana State and Northern Illinois
